Naval Ops: Commander is a vehicle simulation game, a PS2 port from the Japanese only Kurogane no Houkou 2: Warship Commander. It is part of the Kurogane no Houkou series of game.
In this game, you can relive some missions that appear in Warship Gunner and also fight against the Superships that appears in the first game. While you directly control your flagship, you are accompanied by a fleet consists of three ships of your choice. As in the other naval ops games, you have a variety of hulls, aircraft and weapons to unlock and equip.
Naval Ops: Commander, has a all-new story. In the naval conflict between Virshia and Navishia, two powerful naval and military nations, you start as a commander of a destroyer from the Navishia naval force. After the introductory mission, you can choose between four naval ship types, U.S, Germany, Japan and the United Kingdom, all of them with different weak and strong points for your gameplay.
Naval Ops commander, has a main campaign of around 80 missions, a survival mode campaign, and a bonus campaign available after completing the main campaign.
Naval Ops: Commander gives you the opportunity to customize your main ship along with the composition of your escort fleet. You can customize your Destroyer, Cruiser, or your own deadly Battleship in the ship design facility. If you don't want to customize your ship, you can also buy prebuilt Historical Ships armed with the correct historical armament. You can command the USS Essex, or the IJN Yamato.
Naval ops: Commander differs from the other two Naval ops game in having a top-down perspective in contrast to the third-person view.
